Hotels wrecked in the Austrian floods. Widespread damage was caused by the floods which swept large areas of Austria recently . Two holidaymakers were drowned and Mr. Edward Barton (43) of Stanmore, Middlesex was sitting in his car outside a hotel when a stream broke its banks and carried the car into the Millstarr lake, in Carinthia... It was said tlater ther Mr. Barton was trying to rescue the car when a mass of water caught him and he was buried under tons of mud rocks and timber.
