Search for the Cologne Bankrobbers: Also the police was busy searching for the three bank robbers who assaulted a bank in Cologne on December 27th and carried off DM 300,000, - ($ 100.000) it was impossible to find the robbers. After they freed the two policemen whom they took as hostages they walked off and disappeared in a wood near the German-French border. All the border crossing are guarded strongly and also on the French side numereos police are on duty. The 6000 West German policemen who are searching the area with dogs are supported by helicopters of the Federal Border Police and of the Federal Army.
