£90,000 Raid In Kent: Just fifty days after the 21/2 million pound Great Train Robbery, a gang held up an armoured bank van in a lonely lane near Longfield in Kent, and got away with £90,000. The gang of eight men ambushed the van, smashed all the windows, beat up the guard - 67-year-old Jenkin Jones - overpowered the four men and a sixteen year old boy who were in the back of the van, and got away with the money. Photo shows Six of the men who were in the van when it was ambushed (Left to Right) Driver George Smith, Junior Clerk Pete Keynton, Messengers Reg.
