London's First "Serve-Yourself" Public House.: The first self-service public house installation has been introduced at the Elephant and Castle Public House, Kensington - London. The Pub is run by ex Cavalry man Charles Farrow - and he has fixed up three pumps in the lounge bar - on the costomers' side - and beer drinkers can pull-their - own-pints. Charles says that the idea is profitable- The customer pays for the beer and receives a glass and then help themselves.
