Three Bishops To Retire From General Synod: Three Bishops today attended their last General Synod, the Church's "parliament". They are the Bishop of Bath and Wells (Rt. Revd Edward Henderson), who retires on Sept. 30th, 1975; The Bishop of Bristol (Rt. Revd Oliver Tomkins). who retires on October 1st 1975, and the Bishop of Portsmouth (Rt Revd John Phillips, who retired July 31st, 1975.
