The Penny-In-The-Slot Chimps - At London Zoo: Some of the Chimpanzees at the London Zoo are now being paid 'wages' - and they know just how to spend them too..The Chimps earn a penny every time they perform a trick for the visitors - such as walking the tight-rope;standing on a ball etc..They they place the penny in the slot of machine in their den - and collect delicacies - such as nuts grapes - biscuits - ra~~ins etc. Photo shows "FIFI"(right) receives a penny from "SAMMY" - he places it into the slot machine and collects a tit-bit.
