Exquisitely embroidered are these crossed rifles inside the Crown. It is being worked on the Queen's Colour of the Royal Air Force Regiment. Preparing for the Pageantry of the Coronation: Expert embroiderers and seamstresses at Hobson and Sons, of Lexington Street, Golden Square, London are now busy getting out of their orders in time for the Coronation ceremonies. Articles they are working on include Pipe banners, and trumpet banners, the crown and royal ciphers which will be worn on the tunics of the Household Cavalry and the Yeomen Warders of the Tower of London, Drum Major's sashes and sashes for the Guards, epaulettes in gold cord and various Regimental standards. All these have to be embroidered by hand in coloured silks and gold thread.
