Art Of The First Americans: Stylized art of this 36 cm. wooden image is Ojibwa. It is a spirit doll of the secret Mida Society, a part of the group's medicine bundle used as : bad medicine" to wish evil on a person. This elaborately organized society aimed as prolinging life apparently only certain lives-by herbal, magical and ritual techniques. Its bundle was like today's doctor little black bag.
