Gog and Magog are Born again: In a studio at Welwyn Garden City sculptor David Evans is working on two pieces of reborn London history - the new statue of those legendary giants, Gog and Magog. It is just over 12 years since their predecessors - who had stood in Guildhall since 1708 - perished in flames when fire bombs rained down. Working from clay models, the culptor has fashioned the two statues in limewood, each 9ft.3 ins.high, and weighing about 15 owt.
