Marguerite Saegesser-Exhibition in Munich: For the first time an exhibition of art-pieces, created by the Swiss sculptoress Marguerite Saesgesser takes place at the Galerie Wolfgang Gurlitt, Munichfrom 14th of November till 10th of December 1957. The artist - born in Bern in 1922 - first made herself acquainted with the work of a mason before starting her studies with the well-known sculptor Milo Martin of Lausanna. After Worl War II the artist visited Sweden and spent several years studying in Rome and some time in the United States. She payed a visit to the work-shop of the British sculptor Henry Moore which was of greatest importance to her. The sculptures of the artists are something between plain sculpture and plastical drawing.
