Congressional Elections In Brazil: Pamphlets Over The Roadway: More than 15,000,000 persons were eligible to vote in the recent Brazilian elections - in which 1,200 candidates stood for the 69 places - to decide the composition of the new Congress and two - thirds of the Senate. In addition 11 new governors are being elected. The election follows the death and sudden downfall of Dr. Vargas.. The result of the elections will not be known for some weeks - but it is expected that the Conservative Party will have a big lead. Photo shows Street scene in Rio De Janiero at the end of election Day - showing the masses of election pamphlets covering the roadway.
