Nice thins, says Mr. Drake a chap can't even a have a bath without somebody butting in, The Butter-in this case is Sally, the household cat. The pair are on fairly friendly terms, anyway as long as Mr. Drake remains in the sink, he's alright, Sally likes water even less that she. Mr. Drakes is a domesticated duck: Every morning at precisely 9 o'clock just as she has finished washing up the breakfast things, Mrs. E. Ford of Coulsdon, Surrey, has a visitor. It's Mr. Drake the domesticate duck, and he's called for his breakfast. As soon as he appears at the window above the sink Mr.s E. Ford puts a cup of tea and a plate of brown bread and butter on the draining board. Having finished his breakfast, Mr. Drake hops into the sink to make his morning toilet. Sometimes, Sally the cat comes along to see whats doing, but when Mr. Drake splashes her, she beats a hasty retreat. When Mrs. Ford leaves the tea pot on the draining board, temptation is too much for the tea loving Mr. Drake who pops his beak inside the spout for a second cuppa, but that gives him a guilty conscious and when he hears Mrs. Ford's footsteps approaching the kitchen, he's off out of the window in a flurry of feathers and back into the safety of his own private swimming pool a bucket in the garden.
