Water on a duck's back - and that is how Mr. Drake likes it. After his breakfast he enjoys a swim round the sink. Mr. Drake Is A Domesticated Duck: Every morning precisely 9 O'clokc, just as she has finished in washing up the breakfast things, Mrs. E. Ford of Coulsdon, Sureey has a visitor. It's Mr. Drake, the domesticate duck, and he's called for his breakfast. As soon as he appears at the window above the sink, Mrs. E. Ford puts a cup of tea and a plate of brown~redd and butter on the draining board. Having finished his beakfast, Mr. Drake hops into the sink to make his morning ~~ilet. Sometimes, Sally the cat comes along tosee what's doing, but when Mr. Drake splashes her, she beats a hasty retreat. The Mrs. Ford leaves the teapot on the draining board, temptation is t~~ Tuch for the tea-loving Mr. Drake, who pops his b~ak inside the spout for a "second cuppa", but that gives him a ~uilty conscious and when e hears Mrs but that gives him a ~~guilty conscious and when he hears Mrs Ford's footsteps approaching the kitchen, he's off out of the window in a flurry of feathers and back into the saf3ety of his own private swimming pool - a bucket in the garden.
