Description
Master of the Queen's Musick composes Jubilee hymn in West Country Friary: Malcolm Williamson, 44 year old Australian Master to the Queen's Musick, retreated to the peace of a Francisian Friary near Sherbowne in Dorset to compose a hymn in honour of the Queen's Silver Jubilee. Malcolm is the first Australian ever to hold the £100 a year honorary post, formerly held by Sir Arthur Bliss for 22 years. To ensure his complete seclusion, he has even had the telephone cut off in the room where he is living, furnished only with a bed, a table and a few chairs.

Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches.

Photo is dated --none.
