1959 Press Photo Flooded Home South England Woman Sweeping Water

Homes flooded in the great storm; Much damage was caused last night in what was described as "one of the most spectacular electric storms in the century", which swept the South of England. Many homes were flooded and buildings damage. Rail and road chaos was caused in the London area. Photo Shows Floodwater being swept from a London home at Silvertown, in the storm last night.
