Restoration of St. Bride's church continues.. Gilding a mural: The restoration of the famous St. Bride's Church in Fleet street - is now almost completed - ready for opening by H.M. The Queen on December 19th.. The new organ - which contains some 3,606 pipes has been installed.. The original Church was practically demolished by wartime bombs.. Photo shows Mr. F.E. Simpson gilding a mural painted by Glyn Jones high above the altar on the East Wall - of the new St. Bride's Church today.
