Girls Who spot for The Guns: An Elite Unit Of the W.R.A.C.: A small volunteer unit - specially selected for their intelligence - initiative - and mathematical knowledge, operates with the Ministry of Supply and Wer Office Experimental Establishment at Shoeburyness - where all kninds of guns and emmunition are tested on the Maplin Sands. They wear distinctive uniform of blue and white - and operate complicated radar - measuring and other apparatus which tells the experts the efficiency of the ammunition - charges wear on barrels etc. They all receive a special "Trade" rate of pay etc. Photo shows CPL. Jean Davis of Leominster on the Maplin Sands - whose duty it is to find the exact fall of the projectile from the guns under test. She is well protected by special clothing which makes her more like a Seagirl than a member of the WRAC.
