Record Price Paid For Da Vinci Painting. Photo shows Leonardo da Vinci's portrait of Ginevra dei Benci, which Prines Franz Josef II of Liechtenstein has sold to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, for a price understood to be about £2 million - the highest ever paid for a painting. The portrait will be put on public exhibition on the Gallery's 25th. anniversary on March 17.
