Neighbours Complain About Nude Statue In Hospital Grounds: People living in St. James' Drive, Balham. S~W. have complained to the authorities -following the installation in the grounds of the entrance to St. James' Hospital - of a life -size Statue of a nude man.. The new out-patients department of the hospital is to be opened on Friday by the Minister of Health.. The statue has been draped - and undraped mysteriously during the past few days- and now some of the local people have asked the authorities to remove the statue - as they say it is unfit for public view. The statue cost ~500. Photo shows The statue - which is named "Recovery" in the grounds of the new hospital entrance.
