As part of a project to illuminated the six-century-old Carthusian Monastery of Pavia, the structure's small cloister has been lighted with Sylvania lamps provided by General Telephone & Electronics International Incorporated.The cloister shown (above) is noted for its has reliefs, statuettes, and gallery arcades. it is lighted by 30 Sylvania 250-watt tungsten halogen lamps in Caribbean fixtures, five Sylvania 1,500-watt tungsten halogen lamps, and 90 1,000-watt Sylvania incandescent lamps. GT7E International also provided lamps to illuminated the facade of the monastery for a "light-and-sound" presentation depicting the history of the monastery. Begun in the 14th century, the charter house at Pavia is regarded by most authorities as among the most magnificent surviving Renaissance structures.
