Description
Young David-Deer in the Basle Zoo: Important and rare success of the Basle Zoo's breeding, when few days ago a young David-deer was born. This kind of deers is very seldom and already extinct in free wild life. Originally living in China, a last herd lived in the park of the Chinese emperor. It is the British Count of Bedford who actually has a breeding herd of David--deers in his private park in England. The mother deer in Basle comes from this Bedford-herd.

Photo measures 9.5 x 7.25 inches.
