Young David Deer in the basic zoo; Important and rare success of the Basle Zoo's breeding, when few days ago a young David deer was born. This kind of deer is very and already extinct in free wild life. Originally living in China, a last herd lived in the park of the Chinese emperor. It is the British count Bedford who actually has a breeding herd of David deers in his private parc in England. The mother deer in Basle comes from this Bedford -herd.
