1968 Press Photo "Fire in San Marucola District" by Italian Francesco Guardi

Two new Guardi at the "Alte Pinakothek" in Munich At 7th August, 1968, the "Bayerische Hypotheken - und Wechselbank" handed over two paintings of the Italian Francesco Guardi to the public presentation took place in the "Alte Pinakothek". The pictures are "The clock-tower at the Marcus-place" (44 x 70.5 cm), and "Fire in San Marucola district" (42.5 x 62.5 cm). The latter shows an event from 1789, the artist covered with this painting and also with several drawings. Both works were sold to the heirs - living in New York - of Baron Nathaniel Rothschild. With these paintings the Rokoko-collection of the Bayerische Hypotheken - und Wechselbank" should be completed. OPS: 'Fire in San Marucola district"
