Telly Savalas (Kojak) Is Awarded ~34,000 Damages In His Libel Case Against The Daily Mail: Telly Savalas, the tough cop in the American TV series Kojak, was awarded ~34,000 damages in the High Court today in his libel action against the London newspaper, the Daily Mail. Mr Savalas sued the Associated Newspapers, the publishers, over an article published in the Daily Mail last year which said that his wild night life in Berlin during the filming of a picture led him to forget his lines. Photo shows Telly Savalas (Kojak) gives the "thumbs-up" sign when he left the High Court after being awarded ~34,000 damages today.
