Execution of Charles I - Re-enacted for film: The execution of Charles I, who had been found guilty of treason, and which took place on January 30, 1649 was re-enacted on a film set at Shepperton Studios, where they are making ''Cromwell''. The part of the doomed king is played by Sir Alec Guinness. Photo shows the re-enactment of the execution of Charles I (played by Sir Alec Guinness), for the film ''Cromwell'' being made at Shepperton Studios.
