Description
A Demonstration of Motorway Accident Rescue With The Aid of Inflatable Rubberised Fabric Bags A Motorway accident rescue procedure was demonstrated today by the Bedfordshire County Fire Service when they carried out trials using inflatable rubberised fabric bags for lifting vehicles which have been involved in accidents. The bag is placed under the vehicle in a deflated condition, and then inflated with compressed air form a bottle, or by the use of exhaust gases from a rescue vehicle simply by connecting a length of hose from the bag to the exhaust pipe of any vehicle. Photo Shows:- A scene during today's accident rescue demonstration showing a car upside down in a deep ditch making it impossible to open the car doors and get the driver out. The firemen have placed the air-bag under the car roof and inflated it, thus lifting the vehicle enough to open the door and extract the injured from car.

Photo measures 10 x 8 inches.
