Description
Miners trapped in Colliery . Three were hopes today that the seven flood- trapped miners at the Left house colliery, near Wakefield, Yorkshire, had found an air pocket and that rescuers would be in tome to reach them. Photo shows Mrs. Evelyn Cotton, wife of one of the trapped miners, crying bitterly as she talks to Gordon Firth, one of her husband's workmates at the pit for the past five years. Mr. Firth was one of the lucky few to escape in the early stages.

Photo measures 10 x 8 inches.

Photo is dated 3-23-1973.
