1965 Press Photo Grocersâ⬠Hall destroyed by blaze

24.9.65 Grocersâ Hall destroyed by blaze â The Grocersâ Hall one of the few livery company buildings in the City of London to survive the wartime blitz was destroyed in a blaze on Wednesday. 150 firemen fought the blaze and traffic was held pu for two hours. Photo Shows: A bust of Sir John Cuttler, a past Master of the Hall, almost unscathed in the fire, looks out across the charred remains of the main staircase.
