Original pictures just received, show scenes from Varto, which took the full force of the earthquake which struck provinces in Eastern Turkey last Friday, and which killed 2,300 people and rendered 70,000 homeless.Photo shows the grief - stricken mother receives the body of her child and bearing it in her arms she walks slowly through the village . She has a few minutes at her disposal to wash her dead child and wrap it in some blankets before it is to be buried.
