Navy Rushes Aid To Greek Earthquake Victims: Help and supplies have been rushed to the Greek earthquake victims by neighboring countries and members nations of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization with representative forces in the Mediterranean. Of these, first on the scene with rescue parties, doctors, equipment, food and water and medical supplies was the British Royal Navy. The stores landed by British warships, comprising such items as 500 camp beds, 6,000 blankets, 2,000 sets of clothing and over 1/4 million pounds of food, have been valued at the equivalent of over $300,000. Picture shows Sailors from ships of the British Mediterranean Fleet give emergency treatment to injured Greeks in Argostoli before the setting up of organized medical centres.
