Thirteen Houses - Two Shops Allowed By 120 ft. Crater In Lancashore Street: A "Creeping earthquake" is swallowing houses - one after another - in the Lancashire town of Farnworth. By last night thirteen houses and two shops had been wrecked - and more that .330 people have been evacuated - but nobody has been hurt. The creator was started by a fracture in a sewage drain - 19ft, down. It is feared that if there is more rain - the rate and area of the land collapse would increases - the whole area lives in fear of their home disappearing. Photo Shows Carpets being handed through one of the widows of a domed house - in the area of the order - in Farnworth, Lancashire.

Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches.

Photo is dated 09-09-1957.
