"Good will packages" distributed for the Bavarian forest: Both land and population of the Bavarian Forest region (near the Czech border) is well-known as Germany's "mezzogiorno". For generations, needy people live in a permanent state of distress. The Federal Government, the Bavarian State government as well as the individual communities year after year try their utmost to render any kind of help. The German Red Cross Organization had thousands of parce/s collected; members of the German Frontier Police, assisted by US Army truck drivers, brought the packages form the Rhineland, a rather wealthy region, into the Bavarian forest region. Photo shows Americans and members of the German Frontier Police seen studying the map to find the way to the Bavarian forest.
