Police Fight Battles With Demonstrators. A few hours after the Trafalgar Square rally at the end of the 'Ban the Bomb' marches from Wethersfield and Aldermaston yesterday, police fought two battles with 'ban the bomb' demonstrators. The trouble started when 500 demonstrators sat down in the road near the American Embassy in Grosvernor Square and refused to move. Two of their leaders were arrested and taken to West and Central police station in Saville Row, and 200 of the demonstrators surged down the road to tye police station to protest. Canon Collins, chairman of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament said that last night's demonstration had no backing from the organisers of the Trafalgar Square rally.
