Press Photo Priests Protest Pope's Meeting With nguyen Van Thieu

Several Roman Catholic priests in clerical garb marched to St. Peter's Sq. to protest a scheduled meeting between Pope Paul VI and South Vietnamese Pres. Nguyen Van Thieu. An estimated 500 Catholic dissenters gathered out side St. John's Basilica and started a march across down town Rome to the Vatican. Several priests bore signs with the names of Buddhist monks who they said are in South Vietnamese prisons.
