1959 Press Photo new exercise frigate "Hipper" in German Navy

A new ship for the German Navy: Now the supervisor of the German Navy Vice - Admiral Ruge put in the new exercise frigate "Hipper" at the Tirpitz-mole in Kiel. The first commander of the former heavy battle-ship "Admiral Hipper" Vice - A miral out of service Heye christioned the new ship. The 1470 BRT tons ship was built in England in 1944 as frigate "Actaeon. In Dec. 1958 the German navy got the sip from England.
