12 Men Trapped In Sunken Dredger Rescued By Divers In Moreton Bay, Brisbane Australia: The 1,600-ton dredger Kaptajn Nielsen sapaized and sunk early today in Moreton Bay, 25. miles from Brisbane, Australia. Trapping 12, men in an air pocket in the sunken ship, the men held a conference under the sea to decide what to do, Moet elected to wait in the air pockets but one Seamen Erik Paulsen Decided to leave the ship and swim a hazardous three-hour as to a tourist ledge in pitch darkness in Moreton Bay. Skin divers were rushed to the scene entering the submarged craft and bring the 12, men to the top, seven bodies were also recovered, Rescue craft also found two men on the Hull of the ship. Most of the seamen were Danish and were asleep when the dredger fully-laden with 2,000 tons of sand, spun over and sunk in 6, fathems deep. The ship has a crew of between 22, and 25, men so far 21, have been accounted for. Photo shows A survivor is brought up by a skin diver to the rescue boats.
