`20,000 Raid On A London Bank Gang Blow Open Strong Room.: A gang blew open the strong room and stole `20,000 from the Midland Bank in Mile End Road, Stepney. The thieves left behind thousands of poundsworth of silver stacked in bags in the strong room, and they are thought to have been in the bank for most of the week-end.
