"Geschlossen". This is a terrible word for Berlin. About as severe as the world-famous German "Verboten". Hundreds of small shops had to close down. No supplies are available. The only help is Allied food and clothing which regularly arrives in Berlin from Western Germany. The only pictures to be seen are those of Wilhelm Pieck, the East German Presid and Joseph Stalin.
