Terrible Bomb-Explosion At Munich "Oktoberfest": A terrible disaster happend at the famous "Oktoberfest" in Munich/West Germany in the evening of September 26th, 1980. About 22, 3 o'clock at the main-exit of the Theresienwiese a delayed action cap, which has been deposited in a waste-paper basket, explosed. Only some minutes after the terrible disaster all available fire-brigades, ambulances, also police and different relief organizations have been in action. The disastrous result: 12 people (amongst them three children) were killed and about 140 persons have been injured - party serious. Photo shows In the Munich hospital "Rechts der Isar" one of the injured people, an American, Mark Kaufenberg (Mark Kaufenberg). Special for the Oktoberfest he was flown to Munich together with four friends. All five were injured by the bomb explosion (the other four are in other hospitals in Munich).
