Bomb attempt in Centre of Munich: In the main subway station of Munich, the Stachus, a bomb exploded in one of the luggage lockers in the night of May 14th, 1976. The explosion brought down the ceiling of about 1200 square metres and many windows of nearby shops were smashed. No persons were injured. The police assume, that the bomb attempt is connected with the death of leader Ulrike Meinhof of the "baader/Meinhof Group", who had committed suicide in prison on May 9th. Photo shows a police officer searching the contents of the wrecked luggage lockers.
