Survival Training School At Gosport Scrambling Into The Inflatable Life-Rafts: Exercises are being carried out at the Survival Training School H.M.S. Siskin RN. Air Station, Goport to demonstrate the methods of rescue and survival of the crashed air-arm pilots and shipwrecked seamen. One of the items demonstrated is a man life-raft which is rather like an inflates tented dinghy. A container of compressed carbon-dioxide inflates the dinghy ten seconds. A cover of rubberized cotton fabric is then erected on a 54 inch mast - and buttoned down of afford protection from exposure the dinghy is complete with everything needed for survival in the roughest weather. Photo shows Newly trained pilots scrambling into the 20 man inflatable life raft - during the demonstration and exercise at the Survival School, Gosport.
