Coffee Growing In The Provinces Of Columbia: After a most profitable year in 1976, in which 1 million and 60 Kilo's of coffee beans were smuggled out of Columbia by Pirate coffee traders, the Columbian Government has given troops the Authorization to inspect trucks and monitor the movement of traffic in the area very carefully. On a small coffee farm near Pereira(Columbia), Brothers Jaime and Luis Lenoro Valencia owners, do not find themselves profiting from the High price Coffee boom throughout Europe. Instead, Just breaking even, they have enough to keep the running of the farm under reasonable finance. Workers for their farm are not difficult to find, only the skilled ones are, as they go where the best rates of pay are given. In an area where there are many poor peasant families without work, nearing hunger and ver badly clothed, one of the few possibilities to be trained in work is at the Manuel Mejia Institute, run by the Columbian Federation of Coffee Growers. Peasants can learn everything there is to know about coffee growing. Those that show promise have a chance to become a teacher at the school, later moving on to a large plantation where they would take charge of a group of workers.
