Australian Police Investigate Death Of Two Chinese Found Trussed And Shrouded In Woolloomooloo Bay: Australian Police and customs experts are investigating the discovery of the bodies of two smuggled Chinese-found floating in Woolloomooloo Bay - while police skin divers are searching the Bay floor for three others. The discovery of the bodies is expected to help the authorities to uncover a vast international smuggling ring - believed to have 'sneaked'thousands of illegal Asian aliens into Australia. The first body was found - and while police were trying to extract information from the Chinese crew of the "Taiyuan" - a liner now berthed at Woolloomoloo, the second was seen floating on the water, Seven Chinese crew members of the "Taiyuan" were arrested - and it is alleged five men boarded the liner in Hong Kong to be smuggled into Australia. Customs authorities in Sydney had been tipped that the liner carried contraband goods - and swarmed aboard the vessel. The smugglers became panicky-and looked the "Yellow Fish" in a specially built locker in the ship's Carpenters' Cabin.. Three are said to have survived five hours in the almost airless compartment. One of those arrested -Hwang Shu Sung said that when the compartment was opened -only three of the men walked out - these three were spirited off the ship and are still at large. He tried to revive the other two - but could not do so. Some of the defendants were said to have shrouded the two bodies with the intention of dumping them at sea.. A second Custom's search forced them to change plans - and the bodies were slipped out of the porthole while the ship was in harbour.. The smuggling operations are believed to have been carried out since the end of the war.
