Championship high jump record for Japan, London: Japan's Kuniyoshi Sugioka clears the bar to set up an Amateur Athletics Association Championship record of 6ft. 10 1/2-ins. At the White City Stadium today on the second day of the A.A.A. Championships. The jump was a personal best for the Nihon University Student and equalled the Japanese record. Second in the event was Australian Colin Ridgeway, with a jump 0f 6ft. 8-ins. and third was defending champion Crawford Fairbrother who cleared 6ft 7-ins.
