Meeting of the "Volkskameer" of the German Democratic Republic." The 22. Session of the "Volkskamer" (East-German Parliament) of the German Democratic Republic started on April 3, 1957 in Eastern-Berlin. The President Otto Grotewohl read a declaration of the government, followed by the resolution concerning the "Law for the election of the official representatives of the people". Photo shows view of the presidency during the declaration of PresidentOtto Grotewohl (Grotewohl) (standing), First government-bench (left to right) Minister of Defense, General Willi Stoph (Stoph) and Walter Ulbricht (Ulbright). Second government-bench (fourth from the left) Minister of Justice Hilde Benjamin (Benjamin).
