House of Lords Passes European Defense Treaty - "Now - You may well congratulate Dr. Adenauer" said Dr. Maier, the President of the House of Lords, to Professor Hallstein, Secretary of State of the West German Republic after the final and definite balloting concerning the passing of the Allied-german Defense Treaty. This historic Session took place in Bonn, Western Germany, Yesterday, Thursday, 15 May 1953. 23 Members of the House of Lords - The Majority of the House - Voted against 15, and the final legal and legitime conclusion was Not to object the ratification of the European Defense treaty.
