Dutch and British Yachts Train for Australia Race: 'Independent Endeavor' (right), the united Kingdom entry, skippered by Peter Wright, races against races against a Dutch entry, 'Spirit of Ramfish', during preparations in Plymouth Sound, for the 11,3500 mile race to Perth, Australia. Several entries had already set sai., tracing the route of the original settlers in the barque Parmella (after which the race is named) from Plymouth in 1829.
