Francis Chi Chester Given Hero's Welcome In Sydney: Lone yachtsman Francis Chi Chester, in his ketch Gypsy Moth IV, sailed triumphantly into Sydney Harbour today, after his epic 13,750-mile voyage from Plymouth, which took him 108 days. Thousands of people crowding the shore gave him a hero's welcome. As soon as the Customs finished a formal inspection of Gypsy Moth, Chi Chester's wife Sheila, and son, Giles, went aboard. The official Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron yacht than began towing the Gypsy Moth across the upper harbour to her berth.
