P.C. Shot Dead - Two Wounded - Then Man Is Arrested. Armed police hunting a gunman, who murdered a policeman and wounded two others at Oxenholme, Westmorland yesterday shot and arrested a man in a gun battle near the Station. The dead man is P.C. George Russell (36) and the wounded are Inspector Alfred Harrison and P.C.J. Archibald, the latter being in a serious condition. When this picture was taken he had been in the operating theatre for more than four hours.
