Shot Policemen - Man In Court: Strict security measures were taken by Scotland Yard today in moving John Edward Witney from Shepherd's Bush Police H.Q. to West London court, where he faces charges of murdering three policemen. A strong guard was kept on Witney, aged 36, unemployed, of Fernhead Road, Paddington. Extra police were on duty to control crowds outside the police station at Shepherd's Bush and at the court in West Kensington. After being at Shepherd's Bush police station for 72 hours. Witney was formally accused of murdering, with others, Det. Sgt.Christopher Tippett Head, Der.. Constable David Stanley Bertran Wombwell and P.C. Geoffrey Fox.
